Nigerian Man Climbs Radio Mask and Threatens to Take His Own Life Due to Hardship

A man who has not yet been identified has scaled a broadcast mast on Katampe Hill in Abuja, among other things, to demand the reinstatement of petrol subsidies.

On Monday afternoon, July 8, the man ascended the mast and threatened to end it all if his demands were not fulfilled.

He also asked that the federal government declare a state of emergency due to insecurity in the states of Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Niger, and Borno in a handwritten message.

Other demands include addressing youngsters who are not in school and opening borders for the importation of food. In a viral video, government officials are seen pleading with him to come down and that his message will reach the authorities.

Despite pleas he has refused to climb down as at the time of writing this report.
